2. Since the ion nitriding method utilizes ionized gas sputtering, the processing time can be significantly shortened compared with the previous nitriding treatment (the time of ion nitriding is only 1/3 of the ordinary gas nitriding time) ~1/5).

3. Since the ion nitriding method uses glow discharge for direct heating, no special heating and heat preservation equipment is required, and a uniform temperature distribution can be obtained. Compared with the indirect heating method, the heating efficiency can be increased by more than 2 times, and the energy saving effect can be achieved ( Energy consumption is only 40%~70% of gas nitriding).

4. Since the ion nitriding is carried out in vacuum, the machined surface without oxidation can be obtained without damaging the surface finish of the workpiece to be processed. And because it is processed at low temperature, the deformation of the workpiece to be processed is extremely small, and no further processing is required after processing, which is very suitable for the processing of finished products.

5. By adjusting the ratio of N, H, X and other gases, the composition of the compound layer can be adjusted freely, so as to obtain the expected mechanical properties.

6. Ion nitriding can be carried out from 380 ℃. In addition, special ion nitriding can also be carried out at a high temperature of 850 ℃ for special alloy materials such as titanium, so the application range is very wide.

7. Since ion nitriding is carried out by ion implantation under low pressure, the gas consumption is very low (only a few percent of gas nitriding), which can greatly reduce the processing cost.
